POWER OF OPTIMISM

The day has ended and the sun sets
I go to bed at night without locking my doors
Very much aware of the wolves lurking just outside my window
Are they ready to pounce on me?
The answer I don’t know
Why be scared of the unknown?
The source of fear becomes afraid of you
Thinking ‘why hasn’t he locked his door?
The answer it doesn’t know
The source of fear is put in a state where he’s scared of the unknown
It should be the other way round
And that’s the power of optimism
Everything works in your favour
Stupidity it is? No!
It’s the application of your faith
If you have no faith, would you dare?
No way!
At that instance without faith, you become scared of the unknown
Fear has conquered you
So this friend slept over
He asked me ‘the doors are not locked, there are dangerous people around’
My reply ‘why would I lock it? I wonder why locks are even made’
He looks at me shocked.
I continued ‘to me there’s no possibility of anyone breaking in,
Because I believe it won’t happen’
And that’s where faith is at work.
The power of optimism needs faith
Without faith and believe, the positive words are just words
They do not materialize.

You forget your inhaler at home
At that very moment you get scared.
Start getting nervous
Sweat trickles down
Breath becomes irregular
Then the asthma attack sets in.
That’s pessimism
But you get relaxed and say to yourself
‘I’ll be ok’
That alone calms you down
It relaxes you.
Your will works in your favour
That’s the power of optimism

The Bible teaches us not to have wicked thoughts about people.
These wicked thoughts block the application of your faith
You say,’ why would I lock my door?’
While somewhere in your head you are planning something evil.
Faith will work against you here.
